Light, Memory, and the Quiet Blue

Dream Series — Art Book

Light, Memory, and the Quiet Blue is an art book that quietly gathers the Dream Series — a body of fiber and mixed-media works created between 2019 and 2022.

This book did not begin as a publication project.
It emerged slowly, as the works themselves accumulated time, memory, and breath. Stitch by stitch, layer by layer, the Dream Series formed a language of blue — not loud, not declarative, but attentive.

About the Book

The Dream Series was born during a season of stillness. Worn denim, softened by daily life, became a surface for memory. Through hand stitching, spiral forms, and layered fragments, each work traces how memory settles, loosens, and transforms.

Rather than documenting a single moment, this book follows a gradual internal movement — from tentative beginnings to deeper emotional density, and finally toward a quieter, lighter openness.

This art book exists as a private archive of that journey. It is not intended as a mass-distributed publication, but as a space for reflection, continuity, and care.

Artist

Jaclyn Bae is a Korean-American fiber and mixed-media artist whose work explores memory, stillness, and transformation. Her practice centers on repurposed denim and hand stitching, materials shaped by time and daily life.

Her works have been exhibited at venues including the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Fine Art of Fiber and exhibitions with the Chicago Korean American Artists Association.

The Dream Series continues her exploration of the intimate space between breath, memory, and blue — where stillness becomes renewal and color becomes quiet emotion.

This page serves as an introduction and archive entry for the Dream Series Art Book.
